INKspired Sketch Blog Hop 25 - 1st Birthday Celebration

Welcome everyone to our 1st birthday at INKspired Sketch Blog hop. Please grab a cuppa, sit and relax while you hop across all the blogs and enjoy the cards that are on display.
You may have hopped across from Marlene and I can't wait to see what she has made for today
Guess what ..if you leave a comment on all the blogs you will have a chance to win a prize, HOW good is that!
Here is the sketch that Teneale has given us this fortnight and it has to be a birthday celebration party theme card....
For my card I choose the lovely Corner Garden stamp as my friend loves flowers. This is a lovely stamp but I do struggle to use it well. I used watercolor paper and silver embossed the flowers on. I then used a Blender pen to pick up different colours to colour in the flowers and leaves. A section of Real Red DSP for the edge with a sliver of silver glimmer paper.I stamped the birthday wishes from the Petite Pairs stamp set onto watercolor paper. Used some glue dots on the back to attach the Silver Metallic thread before attaching it to the card front. A rhinestone finished off the words

I found it very difficult to capture the beautiful silver embossing (I deleted the night pic as it didn't do it justice). Hope these two pics do. I seem to have too much sparkle now...lol. Some people would say you can never have enough sparkle in your life!

If you have any hints for me, please let me know. I would be grateful!

Thank you for visiting and
now it is onto the lovely Renee to see what she has in store for us

Tips when using Embossing Powder:
1. Use the Embossing Buddy to rub over the cardstock or watercolor paper first.
(it prevents you ending up with embossed embossing powder everywhere)
2. Versamark onto your stamp and then when stamped onto your  card stock apply the Embossing Powder and don't forget to tap on the back to get any excess powder off.
3. Two heat settings on the heat tool - use high for setting the powder.
4. I always warm the heat tool first and then move it over the cardstock.
5. As soon as you see the powder changing then move on don't continue to heat in one spot, you could burn your card.(I am speaking from experience on this!)

Hope these tips help when you are next embossing!
