Peaceful Poppies DSP for ANZAC Day

Hello everyone it is saturday the 25th April here in Australia and we are having a very quiet ANZAC Day remembering all our fallen soldiers that never made it home. Social distancing has prevented the celebrations that we usually have across our great country which usually starts with Dawn Services and marches right across the land in every town and city then it is onto the pubs and clubs to share stories and play two up but not this year!

Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties for Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
The acronym ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, whose soldiers were known as Anzacs.

I had made some quick and easy cards with the lovely Peaceful Poppies DSP and the Peaceful Poppies Elements.

You can see below how pretty the Peaceful Poppies DSP is

PEACEFUL POPPIES DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

I used the Poppy Parade cardstock and added a piece of the DSP to the front.

I cut the shape for the words and the black background using the Painted Labels Dies below.

PAINTED LABELS DIES

Aren't these Peaceful Poppies Elments below so quick and easy to use

PEACEFUL POPPIES ELEMENTS

The words were from the Peaceful Moments stampset

Before I go wanted to share this amazing tribute from the Lindisfarne Anglican Grammer School - so moving

Until next time

INKspired Sketch Challenge 112 -

You may have come across from Julie Martin and I always look forward to seeing what she has made each fortnight.

Well they say you should keep looking at the sketch as indeed I missed a bit....blame not having my glasses on
I started with the Mountain Air Stampset that I have been enjoying (my early birthday present) that I got. Didn't use the dies on this card but will show you one later in the week that I did. Love this bundle!

Started with Terracotta Tile cardstock as my base. On the Whisper White piece added a small piece of Basic Black to the bottom. Using the Stamparatus stampped the mountains off once onto paper and then stamped onto the cardstock - did the same with the solid mountains which is the flip side. Using Pear Pizzazz stamped the row of trees on twice to give a deeper colour.

Then cut a smaller piece of Terracotta Tile cardstock that I embossed with the Mosaic 3D embossing folder.
Tip: I now write on the front of my embossing folder Blue Plate - so everyone remembers

3D Embossing Folder Plate - see below.

Close up of the scene on the front of my card that has a little machine sewing on it - attaching the piece of vellum...

Used the words from the very cute Special Someone stampset

I even remembered to take a photo of the inside of my card!

Thank you for stopping by & now it is onto Kozue Smith
to see her gorgeous creation

Until next time

Honey Bee card

Love the Honey Bee Bundle - beautiful bees and the cute flowers that go with the hive. Brought back memories of my childhood with the bees - so had to have this bundle. We had a few hives on the farm and Dad would get the smoker going when we had to raid the hives which was supposed to calm them down but they didn't like giving up their honey!

Started with Soft Suede main card and embossed the next layer of Soft Suede using the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder.

Used Mango Melody for the honeycomb and pushed some of the hexagons out. Stamped the bees using Memento ink and coloured in their stripes with Stampin' Blend Dark Mango Melody.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter staying at home - catching up with jobs that needed doing and
enjoying some cardmaking whilst eating that yummy chocolate the bunny dropped off!

Until next time

INKspired Colour Combo Challenge 111 -

Thank you for joining us tonight as we recommence our INKspired blog hops. It has been a difficult few months with the challenges of drought, fires and now self  isolation with COVID-19 but we will get through all this.
This fortnight it is a colour challenge. They are such pretty colours together. You may have hopped across from Julie Martin and I can't wait to see what she has made.
Started with the Ornate Style Bundle

Pool Party as my base card and cut a Basic Gray layer from the Ornate Layers Dies. Stamped the flowers on Whisper White and coloured with my Stampin' Blends. The flowers are coloured in So Saffron, Pool Party & Highland Heather.

The words came from Ornate Thanks stampset - see below which is part of the Ornate Garden Suite.

Used the Detailed Trio Punch to round two opposing corners of  the Whisper White cardstock. A bow and some pearls completed my card.

Thank you for stopping by, now it is onto the lovely Barb Williams

Until next time
